Der Schüler Blechens debütierte 1834 mit dieser Landschaft auf der Akademie-Ausstellung. Im Katalog ist dazu vermerkt: „Erster Versuch in Öl unter Leitung Prof. Blechen gemalt“. 1837 übernahm Krüger vorläuﬁg die Unterrichtstätigkeit für seinen erkrankten Professor. 1850 bis 1872 lebte Krüger in Dresden und später in Arendsee in der Altmark.
