Krüger war ein Schüler von Carl Blechen und erlangte als Kupferstecher und Lithograph ab 1832 besonders mit landschaftlichen Kompositionen Bekanntheit. 1837 übernahm er vorläuﬁg die Unterrichtstätigkeit für seinen erkrankten Professor. 1850 bis 1872 lebte Krüger in Dresden und später in Arendsee in der Altmark.
