Henningers Pinsel verwandelt einen weißen Rosenstrauch in ein sublimes Farbgewitter. Das signierte Gemälde entstand 1930 in Stuttgart. Im Jahr zuvor hatte Henninger zusammen mit Manfred Pahl, Wilhelm Geyer, Alfred Lehmann und Gustav Schopf die "Stuttgarter Neue Sezession" gegründet. Nach ersten Ausstellungserfolgen emigriert der überzeugte Pazifist 1933 zunächst in die Schweiz, dann nach Ibiza und später ins Tessin.
