Evanđelist stoji na niskom podnožju u živom okretu tijela udesno, kojeg slijedi i glava. Lijevom rukom drži pred grudima otvorenu knjigu, a podignutom desnom rukom držao je pero. Do nogu mu leži njegov simbol; vol, vrlo malih dimenzija. Oštre, markantne crte lica s mršavim obrazima i jakim nosom obrasle su dugačkom gustom bradom i brkovima. Gusta kosa je kratka i pada jednim uvojkom na visoko čelo. Odjeven je u togu koja naglašava pregib visokog desnog bedra i slijeva se cjevastim naborom između nogu do bosih stopala. Plašt je slikovito drapiran preko desnog ramena i grudiju i vezan na lijevo…
