Er ist vor einem neutralen Hintergrund dargestellt. Kontext: Mit dieser Abbildung illustrierte die Psychologin Sofie (Sophie) Lazarsfeld (geb. Munk, 1881–1976) in ihrer Publikation „Wie die Frau den Mann erlebt“ den Abschnitt über den sog. „Keuschheitsgürtel“. Sie schreibt dort: „Es ist das Mittelalter mit seinen Liebeshöfen, Minnesängern, Troubadouren. Die Frau wurde verehrt, angebetet und als der hehrste Schmuck des Lebens besungen. …
