Das Blatt gehört zu einer Reihe von Porträtskizzen, die Joseph Joachim von Schnizer als Vorbereitung für Gemälde schuf, die Schlachten der Napoleonischen Feldzüge 1814 abbildeten. Die Zeichnung zeigt Kronprinz Friedrich Wilhelm, den späteren König Wilhelm I. von Württemberg, in ganzer Figur. Er hat den Betrachtenden halbseitig den Rücken zugewendet, der Kopf ist im Profil zu sehen, seine Arme sind vor der Brust überkreuzt. Das Konvolut umfasst weitere, dieser Skizze ähnliche Darstellungen des Kronprinzen (siehe Inv.-Nr. 9050/03683-1 und 9050/03683-7).
