Der Gedenkstich zeigt ein oval gefasstes Porträt des Theologen Johann Reinhard Hedinger. Er ist in Halbfigur im Halbprofil von rechts dargestellt. Seine rechte Hand ruht auf einem Totenschädel, die linke deutet auf ein Kruzifix, das im Hintergrund an der Wand hängt. Beide Gegenstände sind mit einem Spruch versehen, der ihren symbolischen Gehalt als Verweis auf den Tod, aber auch auf die Auferstehung verdeutlicht. Unter dem Porträt sind das Wappen des Dargestellten sowie ein Widmungsgedicht auf einer Sockelkonsole angebracht. Der Kupferstich wurde 1706 von Andreas Matthäus Wolfgang in Augsburg geschaffen. Als Vorlage für das Porträt diente ein Gemälde von Georg Friedrich List.
