An einer gemauerten Wand lehnt ein Porträt in einem ovalem, steinernen Rahmen. Es steht auf einem Sockel, auf dem links zwei gerollte Blattbogen und rechts eine Palette mit Pinseln liegen. Die Inschrift auf dem Sockel identifiziert den Dargestellten als den Maler Louis Galloche, der Professor, Direktor und schließlich Kanzler der Académie Royale de Peinture et de Sculpture in Paris war. Dieser ist in Halbfigur auf einem Sessel sitzend gezeigt, seine rechte Hand ruht auf einem Stapel Mappen oder Schriften. Als Vorlage für das Porträt zog Johann Gotthard Müller ein Gemälde von Louis Tocqué heran. Der Kupferstich entstand 1776 anlässlich der Aufnahme Müllers in die Académie Royale.
