Einer architektonisch gegliederten, strukturierten Fläche ist das ovale Bildnis Johann Martin Notters einbeschrieben. Der Bankier galt als reichster Mann des Herzogtums Württemberg. Notter ist bis unter die Brust gezeigt, ins Dreiviertelprofil nach rechts gewendet. Er trägt eine Zopfperücke, die an den Schläfen in zwei Rollen gelegt ist. Das Wams ist über dem umfangreichen Leib nur mit einem Knopf geschlossen. Als Vorlage für das Porträt diente dem Kupferstecher Friedrich Müller ein Gemälde von Philipp Friedrich Hetsch.
