Johann Christian Glaser (1793-1854) war Wirt des Gasthauses "König von England", das in Stuttgart zwischen Altem Schloss und Stiftskirche in der Dorotheenstraße 2 lag. Bis Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts soll es das vornehmste Gasthaus der Stadt gewesen sein. Franz Seraph Stirnbrand stellte den jungen Wirt im Halbprofil von links gesehen dar, vor einem dunkelgrünen Hintergrund.
