The first impression at the station reveals streets that are far too wide. In the city centre they continue as a result of reconstruction. Some of the housing estates built before the war proudly display their year of construction: 1939. The intensive building activity of the 1930s burned the aesthetics of the time into the grace of the city. The construction of housing estates - as a model of the new city - and the spatial dominance of motor traffic have shaped the photographer's view of Braunschweig. <strong>Bettina Lockemann,</strong> *1971 in Berlin, Germany.
