Das auf Holz gemalte Bild "Marientod" wurde 1889 vom erzbischöflichen Bauamt Karlsruhe an die "Badische Sammlung für Alterthums- und Völkerkunde" übergeben, die 1919 in das Badische Landemuseum überging. Es handelt sich um das Fragment eines Altarflügels, der ursprünglich wohl zu einem Marienaltar gehörte. Die Darstellung folgt der üblichen Bildtradition des Marientodes. Umgeben von den Aposteln liegt die sterbende Muttergottes in einem Baldachinbett, das mit reichen, karmesinroten Damaststoffen und weißen Laken ausgestatten ist.
