Hans Staudacher (born 1923 in St. Urban, Carinthia), autodidact, has lived and worked in Vienna since 1950. Between 1954 and 1962 he had spent several periods in Paris. Since the post-war period, Hans Staudacher has been one of the most important representatives of the Austrian Informel. His abstract paintings are executed in an expressive, gestural way. The lyrical Informel is combined with Abstract Expressionism to create a unique, very personal style.
