Lady Shoes is from a Jac Leirner's series of unique works drawing on her collection of vintage plastic shopping bags. The artist began to accumulate bags and first exhibited them under the title Nomes in 1989 as vast quilted surfaces, with hundreds of bags, filled with polyester padding sewn together, bag on bag.
