In 2011, a bronze public sculpture was stolen by metal thieves in Dulwich Park, London. The abstract work was another sculpture in a series of metal thefts in London that year, from public sculptures to telephone poles to railway lines, a dangerous and large endeavor for proportionally meager profit. Although the sculpture would have been worth 500,000 pounds as a work of art, the metal is believed to be worth only a small fraction of the insured work in monetary value.
