The Valley heeft net als The Servant een hoog voyeurisme gehalte. De kelner passeert in de achtergrond, de toeschouwer bevindt zich in de ruimte waar ‘het’ gebeurt, in the place to be. Wij zien de servant niet, maar de servant ziet ons. Bij The Valley kijken we vanop een hoogte naar een vallei waar enkele geïsoleerde huizen zijn. Wie er woont weten we niet, maar wie er kijkt is ook niet duidelijk. Wie kijkt, en wordt er teruggekeken vanuit de huizen?
