Das Bild zeigt ein Porträt des deutschen lutherischen Theologen und Pädagogen Christian Weise (1703–1743) in einem verzierten Rahmen. Seine rechte Hand hält ein Buch, das auf einem Tisch steht. Im Hintergrund gibt ein zur Seite gezogener Vorhang den Blick auf ein Bücherregal frei. Es handelt sich um einen Kupferstich, der Weise in seiner akademischen Funktion darstellt. Johann Martin Bernigeroth schuf die Grafik nach einem Gemälde von Elias Gottlob Haußmann. (md, KSt/2026)
