Dieses Bild zeigt ein Porträt des bedeutenden britischen Bauingenieurs und Architekten Thomas Telford (1757–1834). Er sitzt in einer entspannten, aber autoritären Pose in einem Sessel. Sein Blick ist leicht zur Seite und nach oben gerichtet. Er trägt die typische Mode der Regency-Ära – einen dunklen Gehrock mit breitem Kragen, eine helle Weste, ein weißes Halstuch (Stock) und helle Kniehosen. In seiner rechten Hand hält er eine Brille, während seine linke Hand auf einem kleinen Tisch ruht, auf dem Pläne oder Dokumente liegen. Die Lithografie wurde nach einem Gemälde von Samuel Lane gefertigt. (md, KSt/2026)
