Det fantes knapt nok ei brygge å legge inntil p. g. av den høye vannstanden. Ferjen ble også en tid ankret opp litt utenfor Hamar, men det var risikabelt med tanke på vær og vind. Men her ved konfeksjonsfabrikken var jo en fin plassering. En av mannskapet, Vidar Havik hadde tilsyn av ferjen her under flommen.
