Schloss Rheydt verfügt über zwei Porträts Arnold Christophs von Bylandt (1708–1759). Während ihn eines als jungen adeligen Mann in Rüstung zeigt, wird er auf diesem Bildnis als Domherr zu Worms abgebildet. Arnold Christoph wurde 1753 mit Rheydt belehnt und folgte seinem Bruder Johannes Franz von Bylandt (1705–1752). Als Kleriker konnte er nicht heiraten. Seine Versuche, nach dem Tod des älteren Bruders laisiert zu werden, um den Fortbestand der Familie sichern zu können, scheiterten. Er blieb als Geistlicher ohne Nachkommen.
