1706 - 3 mei, eerste Pinksterdag. Slag bij RamilliesTussen Brussel en Luik bij Ramillies versloegen de Engels-Nederlandse troepen de Fransen en de Beieren. De slag begon om één uur 's middags; om half vier viel de beslissing. De Fransen en hun bondgenoten vluchtten in paniek. Zij verloren 10000 man aan doden en gewonden, terwijl er 7000 in krijgsgevangenschap raakten.De geallieerden telden slechts 4400 doden en gewonden. Uiterst rechts staat waarschijnlijk de opperbevelhebber John Churchill, hertog van Marlborough met zijn staf.
