Schepen onder de kust voor anker, met op de voorgrond een admiraliteitsschip met op de witte baan van de Nederlandse vlag op het achterschip de initialen ('W.v.V.') van de schilder. Daarachter een fluitschip. Links en rechts kleine vrachtschepen, een spiegeljacht en roeiboten.
