Portret van Anna de Hooghe, de vierde echtgenote van de schilder Ludolf Bakhuysen, op gevorderde leeftijd. Zij zit op een stoel bij een tafel en kijkt op uit het boek waarin zij aan het lezen was. In haar rechterhand houdt zij een bril. Bij haar voeten een hond. Op tafel een gedoofde kaars. Aan de muur hangt het portret van haar zoon Johannes Bakhuysen (SK-A-2189).
