The picture is published in Upsala NyBil, 6 November 1943, with the following caption: "This is what it looks like right now in front of the main portal of the Upsala Cathedral. You can’t claim that it’s neat or neatly, and most much better, it hardly ever gets covered with planktak and tar. It is well known that it is intended that the church visitors can count on protection against possibly degrading parts of the west facade in this way.
