Inspektor Anders Forsberg var ordförande i inkvarteringsnämnden och tog vid detta tillfälle fram inkvartering för ett par hundra flyktingar. Landsfiskalen i Olands distrikt Curt Rosenquist var behjälplig. Med början i september 1944 flydde ett stort antal baltiska flyktingar till Sverige. Många kom med små fiskebåtar och gick i land i Roslagen i Uppland. De estniska flyktingar som kom till Gimo i september 1944 inkvarterades i Skäfthammars kyrka…
