AB Upsala Margarinfabrik grundades 1928, dotterbolag till Uppsala Valskvarn. Lokalerna utvidgades och moderniserades vid flera tillfällen, särskilt 1938 - 1939. 1936 ett 25-tal tjänstemän och 30 arbetare. 1946 tillverkade man bordsmargarinet Splendo, Växa växt, Svalan från Uppsala och Uppsala Bordsmargarin. 1944 45 anställda, 1946 25 anställda, 1948 30 anställda. Företaget övertogs av Unilever. Enligt telefonkatalogen 1935 är adressen Kungsgatan 79. I telefonkatalogen från 1952 är adressen Hamnesplanaden 9.
