According to the future of Stadsbildens pp 31 - 32: “The current thoroughfare was created in 1935 after a very lively debate. Already in 1908, proposals had been made for a traffic route over the plot. According to this, the row of houses was to be demolished to make way for a wide street. The remaining buildings were to be built and changed in Renaissance style after drawings of Ture Stenberg.”
