De Engels-Nederlandse vloot overmeestert de Spaanse zilvervloot in de baai bij de Spaanse stad VigosDe pas onder Frans convooi uit West-Indië teruggekeerde Spaanse zilvervloot lag in de baai verschanst. Desondanks slaagden 4000 man erin aan land te komen. Met de daarna vernielde schepen verdween het grootste deel van de kostbare lading naar de bodem van de baai. Een tiende deel werd buitgemaakt. De afbeelding is topografisch onjuist.
