Tygstationen i Boden hade till uppgift att förvara, vårda, reparera och i viss mån tillverka artilleri- och handeldvapenmaterial för de förband som var stationerade i Bodens fästning. Tygstationen, som inrättades 1906 och flyttande till egen anläggning vid Trångforsen, var en av områdets största arbetsplatser med såväl värnpliktiga som fast anställd militär och civil personal.
