1871 Skånska Cementaktiebolaget, ursprunget till dagens Cementa. Ett år senare invigdes den första svenska cementfabriken i Lomma utanför Malmö, där det fanns gott om lämplig lera. Kalken hämtades från Limhamn. 1930-talet var en brytningstid. Den moderna välfärdsstaten Sverige skulle skapas. Bostadsbristen skulle byggas bort. 1934-39 ökade antalet lägenheter från 29.000 till 59.000. Nyttan, funktionen, det rationella och den sociala grundsynen ställdes i centrum.
