Motivering: Kustsamhälle med sammansatt näringsbas, under 1800-talet främst fraktseglation av bl.a. ostron, där den sammanhållna ljusa bostadsbebyggelsen, på ett för Bohuslän otypiskt sätt, vänder långsidorna mot vattnet. - Uttryck för riksintresset: Ljust målade bostadshus med röda tegeltak från 1800-talet (köpmanshus och enklare arbetarlängor), några faluröda magasin och bodar samt bryggor och kajskoning av huggen granit.
