Vid genomläsning av gamla domboksprotokoll lägger man märke till de ständiga tvisterna mellan byarna Järesta och Körning. Det kunde gälla äganderätt till mark, eller försummat underhåll av den gemensamma bron över Järestabäcken. Vid en vik av Vedasjön ligger i Järesta ett båtsmanstorp, som beboddes ända fram till år 1940. Numera ägs och sköts det av Nordingrå Hembygdsförening.
